Tim, Robin, Charles & Willow,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful reflections about past, present and movement into the future. Yes, as Prajna & Shannon said, and as many of us have experienced (already!) this work runs very deep. This group process we are involved in can so easily rest upon the habits and acculturations of the colonized mind & the "known" ways to operate within a group, which is founded upon heirarchy, power-structures, priviledge and acceptance of the colonization of all our minds and imaginations.
We CAN! decolonize our minds/imaginations & group structure! Even working in a crunched timeline, the people forming the Living Body of the CRN-MC are dynamic, intelligent, dedicated and fantastic (r)evolutionaries. WE CAN be the change we want to see, WE CAN decolonize our minds, our group, our community, and embody authentic democracy.
As you articulated, creating the organization and structure for how we operate as a group is what we could have done if there was time before we were putting out an ordinance and starting all the critical work needed for this particular campaign. Even so, I agree that we can conduct, and PRIORITIZE, a parallel effort, inventing an organization for the CRN-MC. Thanks for the links to the mind mapping tool.
Essential to this organization will be horizontal heirarchy, as well as a deep caring for, accountability and nurturing for those who are in a group moving this work forward (ie- Peter, Kelly, soon to be Carrie....) with the top of the list tasks to be done. How do we distribute the weight of the 'to do list' in this organization?
My heart resonated with Michael St. John's response, that I would love to sign up for the process group, if I didn't feel like it was an over-committment, in addition to having a 'personal' life as well!
You all have done a WONDERFUL job! Thank you & please continue sharing ideas which surface through ongoing reflections how we can create a organizational structure which serves and listens to us all.
Thank you all.
Sincerely,
Ali
ps- so happy your names link you all to natural manifestations :) Creating process which mimics the natural world we are all made of. YES!
