Hello all:

I am most definitely NOT comfortable with CMAR taking any part in these
discussions or making a request under the CMAR name. We are not, generally
speaking, a political organization. And insofar as we are one, our scope is
tightly limited to housing related issues.

Even something as supposedly non-political as requesting that the
discussion be extended and opened up for further public debate is
absolutely taking a stance, and one that is not our (CMAR's) place to take.

As individual Amreicans we still have the constitutional right to get
involved, and I would encourage everyone who feels strongly about this or
any other issue to do so. But as this short discussion has shown we clearly
have a very wide range of political views within CMAR. The only way this
works is if we keep this organization apolitical and focused on serving our
clients. By all means members should use their various platforms
as individuals to call for action. But please don't use my voice as part of
the collective CMAR to amplify it.

Respectfully
