Shock, sadness, despair, grief, anger, depression.</p><p align="left" style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: inherit; box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: normal; margin: 0px 0px 20px;" class="">It feels overwhelming. What to do? How to respond? How to try and be with it all and still keep going with life, with keeping the flicker of hope alive in these darkening times that can so easily cause us (me) to close our hearts and shut down just to try and stay sane while such craziness abounds with such incredible hurtfulness to all.</p><p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: inherit; box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: normal; margin: 0px 0px 20px;" class="">Then I go outside into our yard this morning, to do my morning thanksgiving prayers and there before me is the eight foot high Lion’s Tail Plant vibrating with life. Bees, Monarch Butterflies, and Hummingbirds all darting in and out amongst the flowers gathering some of the sweet nectar that they produce. It is a circus of motion, of sound, of life. Next to all this activity I see how some new stalks of baby grass tendrils coming up through the soil where Andrea seeded a barren stretch of earth with hopes that new growth would one day take place. It is.</p><p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: inherit; box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: normal; margin: 0px 0px 20px;" class=""><strong style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: inherit; box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px;" class="">Nature works. Nature produces amazing diversity of life and beings, all seeking to live and flourish.</strong></p><p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: inherit; box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: normal; margin: 0px 0px 20px;" class="">Trying to balance the existence of such beauty and creativity with the demons of violence unleashed in so many ways is very vexing to say the least. It makes it more important than ever to take good care of our stressed out selves and, of extreme importance, to<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><em style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: inherit; box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px;" class="">do the inner work to keep our hearts open to the healing presence of love light within us all and to pray and work for healing, for peace, for justice, for beauty.</em></p><p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: inherit; box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: normal; margin: 0px 0px 20px;" class="">These incredibly challenging times call us go grow, to deepen, raise and expand the bandwidth of our conscious awareness so we can recognize, understand and live together cooperatively and harmoniously from the sacred unity that we are all embedded in and that lives in the deepest recess of our essential being. As the Lakota say during their prayers, “We are all related.”</p><p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: inherit; box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: normal; margin: 0px 0px 20px;" class="">What we do to another, to the earth, the ocean, the air, to animals, we do to ourselves and our children, our families, the ones coming down the line in future generations. There is no such phenomenon as separation. It is as if we are infected with a mind-virus that distorts our perception into believing we are each separate objects living in a universe of separate objects. Modern particle physics along with indigenous wisdom science and spiritual traditions worldwide present the same understanding - we, all of creation, seen and unseen, are interwovenly interconnected in a web of unity with all that is, all that has been, all that will be.</p><p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: inherit; box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: normal; margin: 0px 0px 20px;" class=""><strong style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: inherit; box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px;" class="">We all make a difference no matter what we do.</strong><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>It is inescapable that what we think, feel and do enters the energy field of the planet precisely because we are all connected. The only aspect of this that is in question is - what kind of difference do we make? In a time of increasing violence, polarization and social unrest the energy of fear grows stronger and feeds judgment and reactivity. The root of fear is the perception and belief in separation for then we are aliened from the cosmic forces that give and sustain our lives. It is a huge wake up call to remember that we are all sacred beings, worthy of respect, care and support, we are all starlight come to earth, come to life and we are all, at our essence, part and parcel of infinite, unconditonal light and love. We are loved, we are love and our love is for giving and receiving, to live love now.</p><p style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: inherit; box-sizing: border-box; font-weight: normal; margin: 0px 0px 20px;" class=""><strong style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: inherit; box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px;" class="">For true healing we must go to the roots of what causes people to commit violence towards innocent others.</strong><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>What has happened in their lives that drives them to commit unspeakable acts to women, children, old ones?
