About a month ago at this time, Lehua and her family moved back home. After that debilitating accident, weeks in the ICU, eight surgeries, two rehab facility experiences & 5 months later, they are back home. </div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""> In the photos below, you can see the welcome they received as they drove off the exit the day of their return. The local fire truck was there with flashing lights. Like this spring equinox time, their journey has been one blessed with light and dark. Sometimes more dark, than light. Mom shared with me that after that precious homecoming, welcome, they had to face the challenge of getting their daughter + wheelchair up 9 steps to enter their house (lift hadn’t been installed yet). She went from being elated and feeling loved to having a complete emotional meltdown. Dad tipped back the wheelchair accidentally jarring her neck, and she became an emotional wreck. </div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""> This next phase of the journey is about speech therapy and more extensive physical therapy. She’s able to talk, but has to relearn inflection, and other things that we take for granted. Along with that, she’s learning how to go from seated to standing, walking not to mention maneuvering around a house via wheelchair in the mean time. They essentially moved her bed to their downstairs so that she could access the bathroom and be on one level. (Photo below) It has been really wonderful for her as she’s having friends visit and settling into being at home again. A key component in this next part of her journey.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class=""> I share all of this, as I believe strongly in the power of our focused prayer and loving presence that we all held for her upon my request. I believe that her healing path is my healing path, is your healing path, is all of our healing paths. Not to mention, I find her a complete inspiration of resiliency, determination, and strength.
