Polio Torch Relay, October 2–24, </p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 10pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11pt;font-family:Aptos,sans-serif">I am pleased to share another important piece
of our overall communications effort: our Radio PSA Outreach Plan.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 10pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11pt;font-family:Aptos,sans-serif">The attached plan identifies radio stations and public media
outlets throughout our District—from Crescent City and the North Coast through
Mendocino, Lake, Sonoma and Napa Counties—that we can approach regarding Public
Service Announcements, community calendar listings and, where possible, on-air
interviews.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 10pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11pt;font-family:Aptos,sans-serif">Our goal is to expand awareness of the World Polio Torch
Relay beyond our own Rotary communications and reach the broader communities
through which the torch will travel.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 10pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11pt;font-family:Aptos,sans-serif">The District Public Image team will provide the overall
messaging, PSA scripts and supporting materials. Local clubs and Area teams
will be especially important in helping us localize the outreach by providing
confirmed relay dates, times and locations and identifying a Rotarian who would
be available for a local radio interview when an opportunity arises.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 10pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11pt;font-family:Aptos,sans-serif">A few important points from the plan:</p>

materials three to four weeks in advance, so we need to begin outreach soon.</p>

coordinating this effort with our District PI Team and working with our Area
Governors and participating clubs as we finalize the local relay details.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 10pt;line-height:115%;font-size:11pt;font-family:Aptos,sans-serif">This is one more opportunity to make the World Polio Torch
Relay highly visible throughout District 5130—and, most importantly, to use the
journey of this very special Olympic torch to remind our communities that
Rotary’s work to end polio continues.</p>
