<div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr">It was about time for some good news, right? <div><br></div><div>More good news from the vaccine world: though antibody levels to Coronaviruses don't last more than several months, our T-lymphocytes keep the target in memory and quickly resume antibody production when re-exposed. </div><div><br></div><div>In my opinion if we continue using masks as advised, we will have a light flu season. IF the majority of us get flu shots, we might not have one at all!</div><div>Interestingly since we closed Sherwood Oaks to visitors and pushed all staff to use masks back in March, our "usual" infection rate dropped dramatically. </div><div>Our recent success in stopping the in house spread of Corona is largely due to dramatically improved mask compliance. Of our 24 residents and 8 staff who tested positive for Covid, all have recovered except the 7 residents who passed away. Additional temporary staff have been hired, and strict isolation policies remain in place. This week's testing will be completed later today, with results not expected until the weekend.
