latest update on John.  He is conscious, but weak and disoriented.=
0; The blockage in his throat was simply a bolus of food that did not pass =
on to his stomach.  He could not swallow at all.  It appears that=
normal peristalsis has stopped.  Sometime today they were going to gi=
ve him a small amount of apple juice and see if he could swallow that. =
; He is receiving nutrition intravenously, so calories are not an issue.</d=
