There are two grants available for eligible organizations, (there are only ten eligible organization and the Rotary Club is one of them). This is a fund raising opportunity that we can all participate in. I urge every club member to put their thinking/wishing caps on and suggest grant ideas/opportunities to the Rotary Club board. The board will select the best ideas and begin the application process. The first grant opportunity is:<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoListParagraph style='text-indent:-.25in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'><![if !supportLists]><span style='font-family:Symbol'><span style='mso-list:Ignore'>·<span style='font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> </span></span></span><![endif]><b>The Bishoff</b> <b>Capital Projects Grant, </b>will award individual grants in amounts ranging from $10,000 to $50,000. Total funding available is $50,000. Application deadline is 10/5/2018. There is a 25% organization match required for these grants.<b> </b>Potential capital projects include but are not limited to facilities new construction or renovation, infrastructure improvements, large equipment, or other capital improvements. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The second grant opportunity is:<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoListParagraph style='text-indent:-.25in;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1'><![if !supportLists]><span style='font-family:Symbol'><span style='mso-list:Ignore'>·<span style='font:7.0pt "Times New Roman"'> </span></span></span><![endif]><b>The Bishoff Special Projects Grant</b> that will award individual grants in amounts ranging from $500 to $15,000. Total funding available is $100,000. There is a 25% organization match required for these grants. Application deadline is 10/5/2018. Funding is available for three grant types:<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'>1. <b>Program proposals for special program projects</b> may be considered. Special projects are considered projects above and beyond the normal course of business. Projects should be one-time activities. Pilot projects or the inception of ongoing endeavors will not be considered. Eligible include, but are not limited to emergency preparedness, special programming (for example, a special one-time program that may include speakers, and other program activities that is not intended to be replicated in future years), or celebratory programming (such as activities around a special anniversary.)<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'>2. <b>Capacity-building projects/administrative grants </b>must demonstrate how they will position the organization to more effectively and/or efficiently fulfill its programmatic goals in the future. Examples of eligible capacity-building activities include:<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'>• strengthening governance, leadership, or staff expertise;<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'>• restructuring business models and accounting practices to improve financial stability;<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'>• building and diversifying revenue streams;<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'>• developing and implementing long-term strategic plans;<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'>• refining communications, marketing, outreach, and social media;<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'>• improving volunteer recruitment, training, and engagement;<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'>• pursuing opportunities to share space, equipment, or other administrative costs; and<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'>• website development.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:.5in'><b><span style='font-size:11.5pt'>3.
