<html><head><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body dir="auto"><div>Hello all Rotarians ,</div><div id="AppleMailSignature"><br></div><div id="AppleMailSignature">This is a short report to let you know , we are finished with the Rotary water project and the water is now Flowing into Vunarey . </div><div id="AppleMailSignature"><br></div><div id="AppleMailSignature">This will be a clean source for years to come of water for the village of Vunarey and the school of Vunarey , plus we installed a tap for the village that we had to cross their land to get to Vunarey .....On the island of Santo in Vanuatu . </div><div id="AppleMailSignature"><br></div><div id="AppleMailSignature">Currently I am in Luganville , the biggest city in Santo . Today I head north to Lonnock for a few days rest and relaxation . Lonnock which is close to Champagne beach in Santo , if you look it up on the internet , is also owned by a local Rotarian and pharmacist who is offering a discounted rate on my lodgings and transportation .</div><div id="AppleMailSignature"><br></div><div id="AppleMailSignature">The local people are extremely grateful for our help providing the money and logistics</div><div id="AppleMailSignature">To make this project possible . The local people did the work to install the pipe and will do maintenance of the system water tank and of gravity flow pipes , which they installed as we looked on and also did what we could as far as physical labor .</div><div id="AppleMailSignature"><br></div><div id="AppleMailSignature">Vunarey , the village , and local people fed and housed us while we were in the village and </div><div id="AppleMailSignature">Provided quite a feast when we were finished . The feast was roasted pig , which they killed for us , chicken , rice , sweet potato and Taro and manioc a type of potato ...and sweetened lemon grass tea .</div><div id="AppleMailSignature"><br></div><div id="AppleMailSignature">It has been a very rewarding trip but , not with out life's many problems , none which were insurmountable with the help of the local Rotary Clubs help and support and knowledge .</div><div id="AppleMailSignature"><br></div><div id="AppleMailSignature">The local club provided lodging at a discounted rate in Santo and Rufino , my counter part from Santo Rotary was a wealth of experience and has a deep understanding of the local customs and culture .</div><div id="AppleMailSignature"><br></div><div id="AppleMailSignature">Thank you for the opportunity to do this service .</div><div id="AppleMailSignature"><br></div><div id="AppleMailSignature">Matt </div><div id="AppleMailSignature"><br> '' Maintenance Matters''<div><br><div>A "Facilities Management company "<br><div><b> </b></div><div><b>Currently Maintenance Matters is operating out of the South Pacific country of Vanuatu for three weeks ...</b></div><div>Working on a Rotary international water project on the island of EspĂrito Santo .</div></div></div><div><br></div><div>Returning to San Francisco sept 13 2017.</div><div><br></div><div>Connectivity is not always dependable here in the islands of Vanuatu .</div><div>I will respond when WIFi presents itself</div></div></body></html>
