<p>There was no key to the Senior Center, as the trellis where Mark Saffron kept it was blown down in a windstorm, and we need to find it soon!
</p>
<p>We met at the Company Store - present Ann, Sheila, Bob, Dan. John felt ill and went home early. Meeting started at 1pm.</p>
<p>- May 1st event was a success, good weather, lots of folks joined the march, Irene's Freedom Singers did songs, we had a circle at Bainbridge Park, marched down Laurel Street to Main, circled back to Redwood, and met at the yard by Trinity Church, where
there were tables and snacks. Sheila will be reimbursed for the food and drink.</p>
<p>Will Beaumont made us a lot of wonderful signs, and even strangers in the park joined our march. We will do this again!</p>
<p>- Sheila told us about a group called PriAmerica that provides legal insurance, and there will be a meeting with the Moura family at their Trout Farm about the plans.</p>
<p>- Recruitment of new O/M members was discussed. Ideas included; visibility through forums, either on MTV or KZYX, John suggests coming up with an agenda and sending out messages to stimulate interest ahead of the meeting. Dan will ask for the master list
of O/M members who signed up and John will send out messages on MCN listserve.</p>
<p>- Marijuana issue - Jude Hillman of the Dragonfly Dispensary has info about the Marijuana Heritage Initiative, a smart cannabis policy for amending 9.31 Ordinance. They want to take it out of law enforcement hands and put it as agriculture. Cannabis is
likely to be legalized in November, and we want to protect small growers.</p>
<p>- Highway cleanup is set for Tuesday 5/24 from 10-1pm. Sheila, Dan, Bob and Ann will come.</p>
<p>- There is a City Council meeting Monday 5/23 at Town Hall, where they may discuss the connection of the Coastal Trail around the Millpond.</p>
<p>- The DTSC workshop is 6/2/16 at Town Hall, with a chance for questions and answers, explanations of plans and timetables, and there is a comment period which ends 6/13/16. We need to ask for a high quality cleanup and the daylighting of creeks, removal
of the unsafe dam in the Millpond, etc.</p>
<p>- 4th of July Parade plans - O/M will help with the application fee but Carrie wants to sign up a one huge community activist group.</p>
<p>- Street Rally Friday 5/20 we got 137 Honks! </p>
<p>- Dan's Internet search of O/M groups found a big active group in Portland. We are now on a central O/M list. There is a large and vibrant presence of Occupy online.</p>
<p>- The Charter Project had a debate on MTV with Linda McClure and Doug McKenty. It is on Livestream on the Internet.</p>
<p>- Meeting adjourned 2:11pm.</p>
