<div dir="ltr">Dear Richard and All 99%ers,<div> Much as I admire Maguire and what she has done for Palestinians, I'm afraid she has not gotten unbiased information in the case of Syria. She was invited by the Patriarch. That would be the Syrian Orthodox Patriarch, I assume, since there is no Latin (Catholic) Patriarch in Syria. And the Syrian Orthodox are with Assad, and it is they who convinced Russia to support Assad and supply him with weapons. Maguire seems to believe what Assad's Prime Minister told her and what the refugees that she probably was guided to by Assad's people told her. The Christian Orthodox minority liked Assad because he did protect them. They fear the Sunni Muslim majority. Therefore, although I admire Maguire, I'm afraid her statements may unintentionally be biased toward Assad. However, she is absolutely right about elections--but elections for president should be held immediately not next year. Otherwise the fighting will continue until next year. A ceasefire and immediate free and fair UN sponsored elections will let the majority choose whom they want for president. It is their right.</div>
