<DIV><FONT size=2>The Honorable President Obama:</FONT></DIV>

listened to your magnificent speech at the D.N.C. and heard praises for
your efforts increasing health care coverage for millions.I am aware that
p</FONT><FONT size=2>oliticians in the pay of big money have blocked or weakened
legislation to regulate banks and to get the economy up and running.
</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>As a member of the Occupy Movement I am appalled at knowledge
that four million people have been out of work for over a year and
home foreclosures are on the rise nationwide.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>I agree with Jim Hightower who said:</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2> "The one simple thing that
would add juice to the economy is a raise in the minimum wage to
$10.00 an hour. this would elevate 30 million Americans now paid poverty wages.
While it would be tough to raise a family on a $10.00 an hour wage (
roughly equal to a yearly income of $20,800) ,<SPAN
class=Apple-converted-space> </SPAN></FONT><FONT size=2>it would create an
immediate infusion into the economy with 30 million people buying goods
and services they have put off due to poverty level wages."</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>A study by the Chicago Federal Reserve Bank last year found
that every dollar increase in the minimum wage produces an immdiate
bump in the next year of $2,800. per recipient in consumer
purchases.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>Poorly paid workers had no role in the economic crash of
2007-2008.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>It was done by the highest paid CEOs and wealthiest
speculators. I urge you to use you powers as president to light a fire under a
corrupt Congress to raise the minimum wage now.</FONT></DIV>
