Webinar: Basics of the Electricity System for Communities
June 11, 2015 1:00-2:30 EDT

Generating electricity from power plants is the single
largest source of anthropogenic carbon dioxide emissions in
the United States. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) is offering a webinar with the U.S. Department of Energy
(DOE) to provide an overview of the electricity system for
communities. The DOE presenters will offer basic information
about how the power system operates, who operates the grid and
how it is regulated. Several community groups requested this
training so they can offer informed comments during the public
participation phase of the Clean Power Plan's state planning
process. For more information on the Clean Power Plan, please
