Forgive me for doubting anything like that is going to happen.<br></div><div class="gmail_default" style="font-family:georgia,serif;font-size:small"><br>And I think our friend would be a fine member of the BOS, provided he meets two conditions: (1) His billionaire nephew must be required to donate a minimum of $100,000 (per year) to the station while Uncle Brucie is on the Board, and (2) The bully from Boonville must be required to stay on his psyche meds at all times, and since he's a confirmed liar, this must occur under the official monitoring of Laura'a Law nurse. Not to put too much out at once, the issues for discussion are many and it helps to<br>
keep them discreet from one another.<br>

You and Norman expressed ‘anecdotal’ concerns—based on, or in spite of these we can<br>
become members or enemies of the station. The non-voting bloc of listeners is<br>
another important demographic. For another thread, perhaps.<br>
<br>
There is also what I call the ‘physics’—the business, the staff, the infrastructure<br>
as it exists. We may agree this is not hitting on all cylinders.<br>
<br>
There are the matters of station ‘mission’ or ‘operational philosophy’. And more<br>
concretely in practice, we address ‘policy’.<br>
<br>
I also break out future or ‘strategic’ planning, because this the jealously guarded<br>
BOD activity you might never see in action, no matter how politely or often you ask<br>
to be personally involved.<br>
<br>
Some on this list might still discuss these issues civilly. Programmers ourselves<br>
are not of one mind about things. KZYX is an unwieldy social experiment in<br>
