                  National Public Radio just made the baffling decision
                  to drastically reduce its staff dedicated to covering
                  climate change and the environment, leaving just one
                  part-time reporter on the beat.<br>
                  <br>
                  NPR’s decision is part of a disturbing anti-science
                  trend within the news media—the number of newspapers
                  that included a weekly science section has shrunk from
                  85 to just 19 in the past 25 years.<br>
                  <br>
                  And with deliberately misleading coverage from
                  conservative outlets like Fox News, the American
                  public is actively misinformed about climate change.
                  In just one year (2013), the percentage of Americans
                  who don’t believe in climate change actually went up
                  7%.<br>
