Here is an article from Indybay that has the most information I have found about potential fracking in Mendocino County. While it is true that there has been little hydrocarbon activity on the North Coast thus far, and there is also no evidence of large scale subterranean deposits, it appears there has been, and is currently some exploration going on which could lead to at least a modest amount of hydraulic fracturing here, especially in the SE portion of the county. Also, the ordinance would make it illegal for any offshore drilling to use Mendocino County land for anything associated with their efforts. <div>
