We all know that. </div><div><br /></div><div>To continue as is will mean the continued bleeding not only the membership from both the north county and the coast, BUT ALSO GRANTS that reward honest attempts to attract and cover the lives of the Latino and Indian residents of Mendocino County with local public affairs programming, message music and travel compensation for serving on the Board in the original two seats specifically allotted those two communities for good reason. </div><div><br /></div><div>This is a rural station with less and less evidence to that effect. </div><div><br /></div><div><div>The Station needs to revert what is now known as the "5th District" Board seat back to the original intent of representation, which was to have a board member who lived on the Mendocino Coast, roughly from Caspar to Guallala elected solely by members who live within those bounds. (We are now represented by a woman who lives in the Ukiah Valley and eats off of the nuclear industry.) The boundaries of the 5th Supervisorial District were substantially altered in the past two redistricting gerrymanderings, rendering it Ukiah-centric in population counts if not heart. Closed seats are only closed if only the folks who are being represented get to vote for the candidates for those seats.</div><div><br /></div><div>Decision making regarding 91.5 KZYZ needs to be handed over to the 3rd District folks it was supposed to serve with special split-signal programming, as was originally intended. It was the first step (never taken) towards decentralization of the station, acknowledging different micro-regional focus. The totally inadequate, heartless coverage of the struggle over the Willits Bypass is inexcusable. If Michael Kisslinger won't get off his ass, hand that reportage (and monetary compensation) over to someone like Mike A'Dair who has a deep history of even-handed reportage of 3rd District politics and movements. </div><div><br /></div><div>Nothing short of multifaceted bigotry can account for the lack of 1st and 2nd generation Latino programmers, and respectful coverage of the county's cannabis culture. </div><div>Coate has been credited for saving the station. Actually, his personality, and choices are driving it to ruin. </div><div>The truth is he is a cowardly and manipulative individual. And Tim Bray you really need to let him talk for himself. What you are doing right now is serving as his hack. </div><div>And your last "science show" entertaining as it was, was poor science passing on results and serious conclusions based on baselines extant for less than a generation.</div><div><br /></div><div>And Doug, I don't need any lessons in deportment from you. David, why are you so reactive? Your job would be affirmed if there
was a better fit (philosophically & operationally) between the
station and community. Job stress would be lowered, business would
be attracted to support the station, and all could prosper with a
new sense of mission. I personally know of several thousand dollars
that go elsewhere due to perceptions of the station.<br />
I really am perplexed with this overreaction. Does the station
