I suggest that we need 5 or 6 CAB's to cover the political and
broadcast range.
The CABS would arrange around the 5 districts and over to lower
Humboldt and Lake.
District 5 gets good reception from the main transmitter and gets
KPFA, Gualala and a fair JPR.
District 4 has their local repeater and a low power in Noyo harbor
plus JPR. Ukiah has
KZYZ and KMEC with 2 districts and should include western Lake
county with their CPR effort.
Willits has KZYZ and JPR and KMUD. The list of facilities goes on
but the need for
non-competitive public radio is with us regionally,

I mention all of these efforts because the purpose of CPR, as I
understand it is to provide an
effective means for facilitating our safety and evolution as
community bodies. Up to this time
it has been a real struggle to maintain broadcast facilities and
consistent programming. We
are ready to evolve our model and actively join in a joyous
reformation of thought and spirit.

This is a suggestion that will change the energy that infects our
regional communications,
reduces the costs for those communications and lets us focus on the
task of bringing ourselves
into more joyous community. ~BC
two CAB's. It makes sense to have one inland and one
coastal. Back in the day (2004-2008?) they tried multiple
CAB's. I think they had four. Many get this confused with
the PAC, which came later. I do not know much about this
period, that's your era, I do not know when or why this idea
petered out.
Community Advisory Board
The MCPB Board of Directors has formed a Community Advisory
Board (CAB) for this station composed of independent station
members who are neither station staff nor Board members.
The purpose of the KZYX Community Advisory Boards is to
provide advice and feedback to the station's Board of
Directors, review the station's programming goals and make
non-binding recommendations and to advise the Board of
Directors on how the station can best serve the community.

The policy of the CAB is to be an independent advisory group
that examines how well the station fulfills its mission of
community service and recommends to the Board of Directors
ways to improve that service or better match its actions
with its mission. It sets its own agenda and may choose to
conduct its affairs and its meetings in a variety of ways,
as it sees fit.

The CAB holds open public meetings at least once per year in
the county. CAB meetings are announced on this web page,
and on the air at least seven days in advance.
The MCPB Community Advisory Board most recently met on
December 19th 2013, 7 PM in Boonville at the Career Center
room at Anderson Valley High School on Mountain View Road.
