In the spirit of lightening your load and building a more
cohesive group of community members, many of whom may also be
stretched a bit thin, I would like to share the attached toolkit
that was developed by the Oakland Climate Action Coalition
through the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights.<br>
<br>
The people of this coalition worked long and hard, enduring the
arduous process of:<br>
<small><small><small><br>
</small></small></small>> gathering input from the
people, <br>
> organizing the information, <br>
> editing drafts of the city's Climate Action Plan,<br>
> attending city council and other pertinent meetings,<br>
> demonstrating when necessary, <br>
> issuing press releases, <br>
<br>
and much more, in order to "<i>pass the boldest and most
equitable Energy and Climate Action Plan in the country with
unprecedented community participation.</i>" Enormous efforts
went into developing the toolkit as well. They did so "<i>to
provide building blocks for other cities to develop
solutions-based climate plans that put people and the planet
first</i>."</font><font face="Calibri"><br>

Paul Cienfuegos will be returning in early October.
The Mendocino Envirnmental Center will sponsor these
events. Hope to do two weekend workshops, one inland,
one on the coast. The dates will be confirmed soon,
most likely October 2 & 3 and October 10 & 11.

If you want to help organize on the coast or inland, I
WELCOME buddies to work with!! Actually, if anyone has
been wanting to do this, or would like to play a more
central role, I welcome this, too. <br>
<br>
A woman from Arcata, Joan Dixon (thanks to Willow for
presenting about Measure S to her group) contacted me
to coordinate these events. I would love to see it
happen, but am not necessarily buring to be the solo
organizer for these events. <br>
<br>
Anyone (maybe the Charter group) may want to
coorganize these events, or set up a fundraiser during
that time, to have Paul speak at an event, please
contact him with details. <br>
