New Jersey politicians want to make water privatization even easier.

A bill awaiting the signature of New Jersey's governor would make it easier for cities to turn water management over to private corporations, by cutting the public out of the process.

Until now, any efforts to privatize water services required a public vote. If this bill goes into effect, residents will have to collect enough signatures to force a public vote, and will have a limited time to do so.

New Jersey’s water needs public oversight because the state already has a miserable track record when it comes to water privatization.

Selling off public water operations has hiked water rates by an average of 64 percent in New Jersey, and has led to increased pollution.
Join us in calling on Governor Christie to protect public oversight of New Jersey’s water!

PETITION TO GOVERNOR CHRIS CHRISTIE: Veto the "Water Infrastructure Protection Act."
