Costco got away without having to do this even though the idea was brought before the City Council for consideration. <div><br></div><div>Using treated water for landscaping not only is a drain on our limited supply but it takes fossil fuel energy to treat water which only exacerbates the drought/heat problem further. Rain water harvesting would help conserve both energy and potable water supplies and it would help off set the impacts of large asphalted parking areas.
