Honestly speaking, Doug, that was my original intent of attending
Democracy School. I thought if enough Public Bank people attended
Democracy School, that we would also get the help of CELDF on our
charter.
At least 4 of us attended.

Firstly, they only
do one issue at a time. So they won't even consider
dealing with
the charter issue until after November.

Secondly, they
referred me to an expert who recommended taking an online
class on
banking and economy from Columbia University, which I attended
the
first class but was daunted at the amount of homework. Banking in
essence is a very dry subject.

Since we have to move ahead
on this, we are preparing a fundraiser to pay
Barry Vogel to help
us.

IN Peace, Robin

Doug sent: [CRNMC]
spoke with Ben at CELDF
Hello all, I spoke with Ben at CELDF this
morning to clarify some of the language in the ordinance, including the
single issue/double issue question that I have heard many in our community
ask about.? I feel better about most of what he said in response to my
queries and hope to do an interview with him and Shannon in the next month
to clarify some of this for all of you....

Also, I would
urge those of you in the Charter County movement here in Mendocino County
to contact them as well as they have written multiple charters for other
communities and they can make sure the language in the Charter is
consistent with the language in already written into Measure S and others
to follow.
