oil and gas production in California. On August 7<sup>th</sup>, the State Water Board is commencing a public stakeholder process for developing "model criteria for groundwater monitoring," in and around oil and gas wells subject to well stimulation treatments, as
specified in Senate Bill 4, passed by the Legislature and signed by the Governor in September 2013. <u></u><u></u></p>
